Performance Art

At home in visual art, I felt called to embark on a performance art journey in 2015. I began embodiment practices, dance lessons, singing lessons, grounding practices, and much more. This process was intense and changed how I live my life day to day. I immersed myself in performance art by volunteering at the Time Based Art Festival, where I was exposed to contemporary performance works from around the world. For TBA 2019, I volunteered to perform for a group performance by Mia Habib, which was my first experience doing performance art. From there, I found a few outlets to experiment with my own short pieces, and other group performance opportunities. In 2024, I founded the Surrealist Cabaret with Maggie Jane, a performance art variety show with rotating artist spots, and an immersive creative experience. In 2025, I put on a long form performance piece, Mysticaloom, that was an interdisciplinary work of dance, song, video, and costume. I currently continue to co-produce and perform in the Surrealist Cabaret.
